Cultural Heritage
© Parks Canada/D. Wilson For thousands of years, the Mi’kmaq canoed paddled these interconnected lakes and rivers, setting up hunting and fishing camps along the shores. Then, in the early 1600s, Europeans began to arrive in the Maritimes, eventually settling in the Kejimkujik area. Visitors are encouraged to come and discover the rich culture of people who once lived on this diverse landscape.
