How to Get There
Welcome to Terra Nova National Park of Canada. The park is located in eastern Newfoundland, approximately 200 km west of St. John's and 60 km east of Gander. The island is accessible by airplane, or ferry service , and the park is accessible by motor vehicle, chartered bus and personal watercraft .

Airplane
Newfoundland is accessible by air through one of five airports:
Gander International Airport is closest to Terra Nova, just 60 km east, while St. John's is 200 km east and Deer Lake is 390 km west.
Ferry Service
Newfoundland is accessible by ferry from Nova Scotia or Labrador.
From Nova Scotia, Marine Atlantic operates year-round crossings between North Sydney, Nova Scotia to Port-aux-Basques, Newfoundland. An additional service between North Sydney and Argentia, Newfoundland is offered from mid-June to late September.
The island is also accessible by ferry service from Labrador. Please visit the following website www.labradormarine.com for more information on one of the three passenger boats.
Motor Vehicle
Terra Nova National Park is accessible by motor vehicle along the Trans Canada Highway. From eastern or western Newfoundland, you will enter the park's east or west gate respectively along the TCH. The highway runs through the park for approximately 40 km, with signage indicating campgrounds, trail heads, roadside pull-offs, day-use areas and our Visitor Information Marine Centre, located at Salton's Brook.

Personal Watercraft
Terra Nova National Park is accessible by sea along the northeastern coast of Newfoundland. Inner Newman Sound has excellent docking facilities, while the outer coves have wharves. The park also has several boat launches: one in inner Newman Sound at Salton's Brook and another at the mouth of Southwest Arm in Alexander Bay.
