A great place to spend a hot summer's day is at Sandy Pond. This shallow sandy beach is great for everyone: relax on the beach; sculpt a sand castle; cool off in the pond. On cooler days, take a stroll around the 3km-looped trail. Or enjoy a picnic at one of the many picnic areas or the kitchen shelter. It's a great place for a swim and a refreshing way to spend a hot summer's day in the park. Other amenities include: change rooms, washrooms and a wheel chair accessible boardwalk.
Please note : this beach is not supervised and while dogs are permitted, they must be kept on a leash and off the boardwalk.

If you want to take a dip in the cool Atlantic water, you can visit one of two beautiful saltwater beaches just outside the park boundary. Located on the Eastport Peninsula, about 30 minutes from Newman Sound Campground, Eastport Beach & Sandy Cove Beaches are two popular summer destinations. Relax in the sun on the sandy beaches, jump in the ocean for a swim or try your hand at beach volleyball (Eastport Beach only).
