Kouchibouguac National Park of Canada
Bicycling
If you are coming to Kouchibouguac in spring, summer or autumn bring your bicycle. There are lots of trails and places to visit. Just relax and peddle.© Parks Canada / Brian Townsend
With over 50 km of bikeway, Kouchibouguac is recognized as one of the best biking locations in Atlantic Canada. Because the Park has relatively flat terrain, the bicycle trail system is accessible to all ages and all levels of ability. Shelters are located along the bicycle trails. Don't forget - it is the law in New Brunswick to wear a bicycle helmet when riding a bicycle. Bicycles are available at the Ryans Recreation Equipment Rental Centre near the South Kouchibouguac campground.
When renting a bicycle, the safety helmet is included. The new trails under construction will be completed by the end of June 2003 and will form part of the New Brunswick Trail System. Check the Hours of Operation .
Canoeing
Paddling a canoe on one of Kouchibouguac's rivers or in the coastal lagoons is definitely seeing the Park and the world we live in from a different perspective.© Parks Canada
Canoeing is another way of seeing the Park from a completely different viewpoint. There are eight "class one" (flat water) rivers flowing into the Park. Don't forget to wear a lifejacket and to bring your garbage back out with you. Canoes, kayaks, rowboats and paddleboats are available at the Ryans Recreation Equipment Rental Centre near South Kouchibouguac campground. When renting watercraft equipment you will be provided with a lifejacket and paddles. Check the
Hours of Operation page.
Remember you are sharing the waters with various other watercrafts (recreational & commercial fishing boats) at Loggiecroft and Cape St. Louis.
