A half-day to a day:
Walk to Kellys Beach. Once at the end of the boardwalk, turn right and walk the six kilometres to the end of the dune keeping well away from the vegetation. During the nesting period for the piping plover sections of this shoreline walk may be closed to the public to protect this small-endangered shorebird. Along the way take the time to look and listen to what's happening around you. Plan to be gone for at least 4.5 hours and more if you stop along the way. The shoreline is sinuous and walking in the sand will make walking strenuous. Make sure you bring along some protective sunscreen and drinking water. Kellys Beach has no natural shade nor drinking water. Remember that it is strictly prohibited to walk on the vegetated part of the dune. The possibilities are unlimited.
