Cross Country Skiing
Fundy National Park offers groomed trails in the Chignecto area and on the Point Wolfe road as well as ungroomed trails along both the Laverty Road and the Goose River trail.

Chignecto Trails
The maps and coloured stakes guide skiers on a colour-coded trail system. Each trail caters to individual skiing abilities as well as different trail lengths. Warm-up shelters offer a spot to rest and have a snack along the way.
Chignecto North Trail Easy - 2 km loop |
Two 1 km loops feature flat and easy trails for beginners and children. A warming shelter is a short 200m ski from the parking area. Trails are lit for night skiing. Head lamp recommended. |
Pink Trail Easy - 1.7 km loop |
This trail loops through Chignecto South and gently slopes back down to the ski shelter. |
Green Trail Easy - 2.8 km loop |
This trail slopes gently through hardwood stands and open fields. |
Red Trail Moderate - 3.5 km loop |
This route has several long runs on gentle slopes. Expect a steeper downhill finish. |
Black Trail Moderate - 4.6 km loop |
This trail offers gentle hills and slopes protected from the wind by dense stands of spruce and fir. |
Blue Trail Difficult - 6.2 km loop |
Gentle slopes and one steep climb of 400 metres through woodlands and old fields reward you with great views of the Bay of Fundy and the Point Wolfe River valley. Warm-up shelter. |
Yellow Trail Caution: steep downhill! Difficult - 7.5 km loop |
The trail descends via the Hastings Road, with challenging turns and long downhill runs. A shelter is located at the bottom of the hill. The trail returns to the shelter via a 1.7 km uphill section. |
Point Wolfe Trail Difficult - 7.5 km one way |
Park at the Point Wolfe Road. As you ski the Point Wolfe Road you will pass by the the golf course, climb two large hills and then descend 4 km to the Point Wolfe covered bridge. This trail is quite open and can be cold on windy days. The warming shelter is located 300 metres beyond the bridge and is available for winter camping (with reservations). |
CAUTION: Open areas of some trails are frequently icy. If any trail is listed as closed, PLEASE DO NOT USE IT!
A few reminders:
- Dogs are not permitted on the groomed trails.
- Groomed trails are for the exclusive use of skiers.
