Summary of duties: Parks Canada is seeking a reliable, motivated and safety conscious individual who is experienced in garden landscaping work from approximately May to September. The key duties are: planting, weeding, cultivating, fertilizing, and flowerbed work in the historical garden setting of the Cascade Gardens. This is outdoor, physically demanding work, involving the use of garden and landscaping tools and equipment. You will be expected to work as part of a team in a popular tourist attraction, and will be a representative of Parks Canada. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are a key factor for the successful candidate.

Language : English essential.

Education : Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education training and/or experience.

Experience In :

  • Substantial experience in performing labour tasks associated with landscaping and lawn care;
  • Substantial experience in operation and maintenance of landscaping power equipment and tools;
  • The use of hand tools associated with landscaping;
  • Planning and carrying out tasks in a team environment;
  • Maintenance tasks associated with garden structures (eg. Benches, fences, walkways);
