Looking for something new? Parks Canada is testing a variety of new accommodations for summer 2016 and invites you to try them out at a promotional price in exchange for your feedback. Riding Mountain National Park will be piloting the Micro-Cube and Double-Tent at Wasagaming Campground.

Now Available! The Micro-Cube

The Micro-Cube is roughly 10m2 and offers a unique experience by virtue of a panoramic window that makes up one side of the cube. The Micro-Cube is a contemporary design with a double bed, two chairs and a table. Visitors will need to bring their own cooking equipment and bedding. Cooking is prohibited inside the accommodation. Plan ahead to be equipped for colder days as this accommodation is not heated. Washrooms and showers nearby. Maximum 2 adults. No additional camping units allowed. Dining tent permitted.

The Double-Tent 

The Double-Tent was created to offer an immersive but comfortable camping experience. The concept consists of a smaller interior tent inside a larger exterior tent. The interior tent contains a bed and a small table and chairs. The exterior tent is equipped with comfortable chairs and a table to relax and eat. The exterior tent is bug proof, allowing you to relax outside without the nuisance of bugs. Visitors will need to bring their own cooking equipment and bedding. Plan ahead to be equipped for colder days as this accommodation is not heated. Cooking is prohibited inside this accommodation. Washrooms and showers nearby. Maximum 2 adults. No additional camping units allowed. Dining tent permitted.

What do I need to bring for my stay in the Micro-Cube or Double-Tent?

For your stay in the Micro-Cube or Double-Tent you should bring your sleeping bag (or bedding), pillow, food, cooking equipment, toiletries and any other equipment that you need for the length of your stay. Pets are not allowed in the Micro-cube.

How do I book the Micro-Cube or Double-Tent?

Riding Mountain National Park is offering the Micro-Cube and Double-Tent at a promotional price in exchange for your feedback. The short feedback forms, provided during your stay, will help Parks Canada improve the accommodations and determine whether or not to implement them more broadly across our system of national parks.

How Long Can I stay in the Micro-Cube or Double-Tent?

Minimum three night stay on long weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). There is a two night minimum stay for the Micro-Cube and Double-Tent during the weekend (Friday and Saturday nights). Outside the weekends, there is no minimum or maximum length of stay for the Micro-Cube or the Double-Tent.
