Never been camping? Not sure where to get started? Don’t worry. This section will tell you everything you need to know to prepare for your Learn-to camp experience.

Event Dates

Saturday, July 26 to Sunday, July 27, 2014



$22.00 per individual

Price is per individual, regardless of the number of participants per tent. Camping fees are included.



Participants are responsible for their own transportation. Note that there is 30 km of driving on a gravel road to reach the campground.


What's included

  • Camping equipment (tent, sleeping pads, stove, fuel and firewood)
  • Meals (morning coffee/tea, campfire snacks and Sunday’s lunch will be provided)
  • All scheduled workshops and activities
  • Camping fees

  • For meal ideas: The basics – What to cook
  • Camp kitchen
    (dinnerware/cookware, glasses/cups, cooler, paper towel, Dishpan, dish soap and dish scrubber, garbage bags)
  • Sleeping Bags
    (sleeping bags are NOT provided. Please ensure you have one for each member of your group or several blankets).
  • Pillow
  • Suitable, comfortable clothing for the outdoors
    (remember that it can be cool at night so bring a variety of clothing so that you will be able to layer for warmth, for more ideas go to: The Basics – What to Wear)
  • Pyjamas
  • Rain gear
  • Comfortable and supportive shoes
    (you will be involved in many different activities, so be prepared to be on your feet)
  • Bug spray
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottles
  • A hat to protect you from the sun
  • Personal toiletries
  • Personal medication
  • Camera
  • Items for young children
    (bottles, diapers, toys, etc.)
  • Your health card
  • Checklist

What not to bring

  • Alcohol
  • Pets
  • Fire arms/or weapons
  • Illegal drugs

This is a rain or shine event.



Space is limited so reservations are required. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

*If participants do not wish to pay by credit card for any reason, please complete the registration by phone and someone from the site will contact them directly to discuss other possible payment options.


Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received 7days before the start of the event will be fully refunded. Should you cancel your registration less than 7 days before the start of the event, we reserve the right to retain your registration fee.
