Important Information for Campers: 

To ensure everyone has a great camping experience this summer the following liquor and fire bans are in effect

Daily (effective May 3 - October 31, 2010)
Campfires and the consumption of alcohol are prohibited during quiet hours from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m in the following campgrounds:

• Tunnel Mountain Village 1
• Tunnel Mountain Village 2 
• Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court 
• Two Jack Main 
• Two Jack Lakeside 
• Johnston Canyon 
• Castle Mountain

Victoria Day Long Weekend (May 21 at 7:00 a.m. to Monday, May 24 at 12 noon)

A liquor ban is in effect for all frontcountry campgrounds in Banff, Yoho & Kootenay National Parks. No alcohol is permitted in the campgrounds while the ban is in effect. The following campgrounds are open for the long weekend and are affected by the liquor ban:

Banff

• Tunnel Mountain Village 1 
• Tunnel Mountain Village 2 
• Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court 
• Two Jack Main 
• Two Jack Lakeside 
• Lake Louise 
• Mosquito Creek

Yoho

• Kickinghorse

Kootenay 

• Redstreak

Canada Day Long Weekend (June 30 at 7:00 a.m. to Monday, July 5 at 12 noon)
Heritage Day Long Weekend (July 30 at 7:00 a.m. to Monday, August 2 at 12 noon)
Labour Day Long Weekend (September 3 at 7:00 a.m. to Monday, September 6 at 12 noon).

A complete liquor ban is in effect for Banff area campgrounds for the July, August and September long weekends. The following campgrounds are affected by this ban:

• Tunnel Mountain Village 1 
• Tunnel Mountain Village 2 
• Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court 
• Two Jack Main 
• Two Jack Lakeside 
• Johnston Canyon 
• Castle Mountain 
• Protection Mountain

Consequences of violating the liquor and fire bans can include the seizure of alcohol, camping permit cancellations, eviction, and/or a charge under the National Park or provincial regulations.
