Demand is heaviest from June through September, with July and August being the busiest.

Permits

Campers must purchase a camping permit at the campground kiosk or self register.

Fires

Campsites are spacious and clean and campfires are permitted at most sites. A fire permit must be purchased at kiosks or self -registration booths.

When Camping, Be Aware! You Are In Bear Country!
Never leave the following unattended at your site:

  • Coolers
  • Pet Bowls
  • Dishes/Pots
  • Toiletries
  • Food Items
  • Cooking Stoves
  • Garbage Bags
  • Wash Basins

Bears that get hooked on food and garbage are problem bears and may have to be destroyed. Please help us keep bears wild. Store all coolers and food items in your vehicle o in storage lockers if provided. Report any bear sightings to park staff.

Dump Stations

Hoodoo Creek campground offers a dumping station.

Showers

Showers are available in Kicking Horse campground only.

Disabled Access

All campgrounds in Yoho National Park are wheelchair accessible.

Learning Opportunities

Interpretive programs are available in some of the campgrounds during the summer months. These programs are free and everyone is welcome to attend. Contact the Yoho National Park Visitor Centre for more details.

Dates of Operation

Dates of operation vary. Summer camping begins in early May, with all campgrounds open by mid to late June. Summer campgrounds close throughout September and October.
