How to Get Here

Yoho National Park is located in the province of British Columbia ~830 km northeast of Vancouver, ~485 km southwest of Edmonton, and ~210 km west of Calgary. It is part of the UNESCO Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site .

In Yoho, the town of Field provides basic services including a gas station, public restrooms, information centre, restaurants, a lodge, guest houses, general/liquor store, and post office. The nearest full service towns are Golden, B.C. (55 km west of Field) and in Banff (83 km east of Field).

By Vehicle

The Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) runs through the centre of Yoho National Park. The highway is two lanes. The maximum speed limit inside the national park is 90 km/hr, with several areas having slower limits for wildlife safety.

The nearest international airport is in Calgary, Alberta, 221 km (3 hour drive) east of Field. Airport shuttle services from Calgary are available to Lake Louise, Alberta, 27 km east of Field (30 minute drive) and Banff, Alberta, 83 km (1 hour drive) east of Field. By Rental Car

By Bus

There is a Greyhound bus flag stop in Field, B.C. The nearest stations, however, are in Banff, Alberta and Golden, B.C. Obtain details in advance from Greyhound Canada if you plan to travel to or from Field by bus.

By Rail

There is limited rail service on a sightseeing basis through Yoho National Park. Contact Banff / Lake Louise Tourism for details.
