What To Bring
The weather in Yoho National Park is pleasant, but can change rapidly. Average daytime highs from May to September range from 16° to 23° Celsius with overnight dropping as low as zero. Come prepared and you’ll have a great time.
Camping Equipment
- tent, tent fly, groundsheet
- tarpaulin, support poles and ropes
- sleeping mat
- warm sleeping bag
- extra blankets
- axe or hatchet (to make kindling from firewood)
Clothing
- clothes (bring various layers, including sweaters and insulated layers to help you dress for the weather)
- waterproof clothing (jackets and pants)
- hats and mitts or gloves
- hiking boots and camp shoes (sandals or runners)
Personal Gear
- flashlight or headlamps with extra batteries
- water bottle
- sunglasses and sunscreen
- insect repellent
- toiletries
- towel
- hand sanitizer
Cooking
- food and drink (there are no convenience stores in the park)
- mess kit (reusable plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, utensils)
- cooking pot, frying pan and aluminum foil
- cutting board, knife and a large bowl
- waterproof matches / lighter
- tongs and/or oven mitts
- dish cloth, dish towel and scrubber
- dishpan and biodegradable dish soap
- reusable plastic tablecloth
- paper towels
- garbage bags
- large water jug
