The Friends of Mount Revelstoke and Glacier is a volunteer organization, a non-profit society that is dedicated to the protection, appreciation, education, and understanding of Mount Revelstoke and Glacier National Parks.
For more than 25 years, the Friends have financially contributed to a variety of park projects, from bird and caribou studies to bear education kits. In conjunction with parks staff, the Friends have published a number of guide and reference books to help visitors enjoy and understand their visit to these parks. The Friends offer an annual bursary to a local high school student entering the field of natural or environmental studies. The group organizes activities for members and non-members in the hopes that by understanding and enjoying the parks that they will want to protect it too.
These endeavours are supported primarily through sales at the Glacier Circle Book Store at the Rogers Pass Discovery Centre in Glacier National Park and at the Balsam Lake Bookstore in Mount Revelstoke National Park. Stop in for a visit and you`ll find a great selection of maps, clothing, books on cultural and natural history, and books for children, as well as gift items unique to our mountain environment.
