Waterton Winterfest 2012

Join us for winter fun in the magic setting of Waterton Lakes National Park.

Have a great Family Day weekend at the Waterton WinterFest! Snowshoe, cross-country ski, hop on a horse-drawn carriage ride and choose from many other activities.

Join us at the Little Prairie picnic shelter on the Akamina Parkway for a hot drink, then hit the trails. Bring your own gear or rent skis and snowshoes from the Waterton Lakes Lodge Resort or Waterton Glacier Suites. Guided trips will be available.

In the community, take a horse-drawn carriage ride, chill out and warm up indoors with family crafts and board games or maybe enjoy a splash in the pool. Then treat yourself to the songs and stories of the mountain national parks by attending a special performance of Parks Canada's ImagiNATION. End the day with music and stargazing.

Schedule of Events

Saturday & Sunday:

• 10am Guided cross-country skiing by Waterton Outdoor Adventures (maximum 12 people). Register at 403-859-2378 on February 16 & 17 between 8am and 5pm.
• 11am-3pm Complimentary hot drinks at Little Prairie.
• 11am-4pm Complimentary horse-drawn carriage rides at Waterton Lakes Lodge Resort. Sign up on site or call 403-859-2150.
• 12.30pm Guided cross-country skiing by Waterton Outdoor Adventures (maximum 12 people). Register at 403-859-2378 on February 16 & 17 between 8am and 5pm.
• 1, 3 & 5pm Free - Parks Canada ImagiNATION show at Waterton Lakes Lodge Resort. 
• 1-9pm Children’s activities and crafts.
• 7pm Meet at Waterton Lakes Lodge Resort. 
  • Saturday - Stargazing with the Royal Astronomical Society.
  • Sunday - Presentation: 'What's Up in the Night Sky' and stargazing.
• 8pm Andrew Scott performs music at Vimy’s Lounge, Waterton Lakes Lodge Resort. 

Monday:

• Ski, snowshoe, toboggan...your day to play!
