Centennial Weekend of the Century
Parks Canada would like
to thank their partners
and Jasper National Park
residents for making the
Centennial weekend of the
Century a huge success!
Everyone from visiting
dignitaries to the visiting
public expressed positive
feedback about the many
walks, demonstrations and
socializing opportunities
throughout the weekend.
The events celebrated
Jasper's rich history, the
legacies we are creating,
and our future direction.
Congratulations to
everyone for putting on
the best celebration of the
century!
It's Elk Rutting Season

The bugling, bull
elk harem
building and
roadside “elk
jams” are in full
swing. Please
give elk their
space at this time
of year. A couple
of tips to
remember:
- Elk are dangerous – no matter when or where you see
them. Give elk the right of way and stay at least three bus
lengths away (30 m / 100 ft).
- Bull elk are particularly dangerous during mating
season (mid-September to the end of October).
- Report all conflicts with elk to park staff. You can reach
Jasper National Park dispatch at 780-852-6155.
