Elk Island National Park

Park Management

Every national park in Canada has a management plan that provides a long-term vision and strategic direction for the park. Management plans are reviewed every five years, with input and involvement from partners, stakeholders and the public, to ensure that the plan remains valid and effective.

A review of the 2005 Elk Island National Park Management Plan was initiated in 2010. Parks Canada staff worked with partners, interest groups and the general public helped to shape the development of the new management plan. Consultations concluded in 2011.
