Phase IIIB –1 (9 km section east of Lake Louise):
Completed in September 2009

Phase IIIB – 2 (14 km section west of Castle Junction):

  • Median separated lanes (2009)
  • Guiderail separated lanes (1010)
  • 18 m wildlife underpass (2009-2010)
  • Two 60 m wildlife overpasses (2009-2010)
  • Overlay lanes (2011)
  • Landscaping (2011)

Phase IIIB-3 (8.5 km section from Lake Louise west to the Alberta/BC border):

  • Reconfigure Icefields Parkway interchange (2009-2011)
  • New eastbound Bow River Bridge (2009-2011)
  • Highway twinning (2009-2012)
  • New CP Rail bridge (2010 – 2013)
  • New Bath Creek bridge (2010-2013)
  • 60 m wildlife underpass (2010-2013)
