Hire a Local Guide
Experiencing your park with a knowledgeable guide can make for outstanding memories. Numerous guiding companies are licensed by Parks Canada to offer their services within the Canadian Rocky Mountain National Parks. There are interpretive day hiking and snowshoeing guides, ski touring and mountaineering guides, backpacking and horseback guides, as well as boating and fishing guides.
Any company offering backcountry guiding services in the Canadian Rocky Mountain National Parks must obtain a guided outdoor activity licence prior to commencing guiding activities. Before booking, you may inquire whether the company you are considering is legally licensed to operate within the national park by contacting Realty Services with Banff National Park at 403.762.1530. You may also report illegal or inappropriate guiding activities to Parks Canada by calling the same number.
