Eastern Yellow-bellied Racer
© Parks Canada / Lynch, W. / 08.81.10.10(09), 1989
This large, long and slender snake does indeed have a yellow belly. It lives only in Saskatchewan, spending each summer in prairie grassland, pastures, old fields and open woods. In winter, it hibernates-sometimes in the same dens as rattlesnakes!
