There are 3 main types of bears in Ivvavik National Park: Along the coast of Ivvavik National Park in the northeastern Yukon, Polar Bears are rare during the open water period. They become more common later in the year as the coastal sea-ice forms. Within Ivvavik National Park, you may meet one of our 245 Barren Ground Grizzly Bears, one of the most populous species of bear in the park.
