Art Workshops

Every second Saturday,
from June 14 to August 9

Friends of the Saint-Ours Canal will offer artistic creation workshops under the supervision of a local artist. Marie-Ève Arpin has a degree in visual arts and is currently studying at the Université du Québec en Outaouais in the same field. Under her lead, you will be able to try different mediums like graphite, pastel, charcoal, and acrylic. All materials are provided.

9:30 to 11:30 a.m. – Adults
1:30 to 3:30 p.m. – Teenagers

$50 for all five days

If you are interested in making bobbin lace, Anne Cazé – another local artist – offers two-hour classes on request. The cost of the activity is $20 and materials are provided.

Tea Time

Every second Sunday from July 13 to August 10, from 1 to 3 p.m.

The Friends of the Canal invite you for tea and give you the opportunity to meet with special guests, and attend educational and historical events.

  • July 13: Storytelling and youth activities, paper-making and iced tea is available for children
  • July 27: The Vallée-du-Richelieu lacemakers
  • August 10: Introduction to archaeology, simulated excavations and discovery of many ancient artefacts
