Archaeological Site at Saint-Louis Forts and Châteaux National Historic Site of Canada

Society Life at Saint-Louis Forts and Châteaux

In 2010, Parks Canada carried out important restoration work of the Dufferin Terrace. The location has regained its floor and its former look, but it now hides a unique archaeological site.

Retrace the steps of French and British governors and discover the remains of what was their residence for over 200 years, Saint-Louis forts and châteaux. The new exposition gives you the opportunity to admire a number of artefacts found during archaeological digs and uses virtual reality to immerge you into the world of the residents of this prestigious seat of power.

This year, the Saint-Louis Forts and Châteaux National Historic Site offers daily tours of the covered site. Come meet our passionate heritage interpreters between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. They will be happy to recount the history of the site at the rate of one group per hour. This family activity is free. The schedules are subject to change. For more information, please call 418-648-7016.
