Feasting with the Papineaus
A new gastronomic experience!
You are cordially invited to travel back in time and experience a unique and exclusive evening!
This year, for the first time ever, Fairmont Le Château Montebello is collaborating with Parks Canada to serve a sumptuous 19th-century formal dinner inside one of Canada’s National Historic Sites, the Manoir Papineau.
Located on the grounds of the resort, the manor was the home of Louis-Joseph Papineau, a leading political figure in the 19th-century. Lovingly restored, the manor recalls the elegance of a bygone era.

From the moment they enter, dinner guests will step back in time to a world of tradition and luxurious culinary delights. They will enjoy a hearty and delicious repast while being attended to by characters in period costume. Inspired by 19th-century recipes and prepared with flair by the hotel’s chefs, the meal is an intimate affair created for the exclusive enjoyment of a group of 12. As they sit around Papineau’s historic dining room table, the group will be made to feel they are cherished guests in the couple’s home.
The period menu dinner is served from September to June, by reservation only. It includes food, wines, chef, serving staff and entertainment.
