How to Get There

The site is located in the Île-aux-Grues archipelago, 48 km east of the city of Québec. A private ferry company provides transport to Grosse Île for a fee. Boat services are offered from the south shore of Québec (Berthier-sur-Mer), from early May to mid-October.

Berthier-sur-Mer

At Berthier-sur-Mer, the private company Les Croisières Lachance offers several departures daily, from early May to mid-October. To reach Berthier-sur-Mer from Quebec City, take the Pierre-Laporte Bridge south and follow signs for Autoroute 20 est (east) toward Rivière-du-Loup. From Autoroute 20, take exit 364 for Berthier-sur-Mer and follow signs for the village, then to the marina.

Through the air

Since 2013, it is possible to visit Grosse Ile and the Irish Memorial through the air, from Montmagny Airport or Quebec City Airport. The following carriers have authorization to land on the National Historic Site.
