Four activities for a variety of groups and each time a wonderful trip into the 19th century.

The Etiquette Game: Students in grade 5 and 6 – Supporting Montréal School Program
Students are introduced to good manners and the rules of etiquette as they were practiced in the 19th century. By taking on some of the characteristics of the bourgeoisie that George-Étienne Cartier was a part of - confidence, elegance and distinction - your students will take on the role of some of the Cartier family's favourite guests.
The subjects covered in the educational tour The Etiquette Game are in line with the themes and objectives of the recent educational reform of the Quebec Ministry of Education. Students have the opportunity to:
- realise the social and economic realities of Montreal during the 19th century
- realise the expressions and functioning of democracy today and in the past and the responsibilities they have as citizens
- begin an introduction to the history of Quebec and Canada
This program is designed specifically for students in grades 5 and 6.
Length of activity: 1.5 hours, or according to your needs.

Welcome to Canada!: For students learning one of Canada's official languages
This program is made-to-measure for English or French-language-learning groups (Organisations offering services to newcomers in partnership with the Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles (Immigration-Québec), continuing education programs, language schools, etc.)
Welcome at the Cartier's!
Students take an entertaining, interactive tour of the Victorian home of one of the Fathers of Confederation, practising their English communication skills as they go. It's the ideal opportunity to review and add to vocabulary associated with furniture, dining and social interaction. This activity was designed specifically for second language learners and can be tailored to all levels.
These activities are designed for all groups of official languages learners.
Length: 90 minutes or according to your needs

A History Lesson : For Students in Tourism, Animation and Cultural Research, Communications and Museum Studies
This specialized tour is geared for students in the fields of tourism and hotel management as well as those in the fields of communications and museum studies. Through informal exchange and demonstrations, this tour aims to inform students of the ways our historic site is used as a tool to promote a better understanding of Canadian history. The guide-interpreter will focus, among other topics, on the appropriate reception of various types of clientele, the overall management of the historic site (protection and conservation, program development, promotion and marketing) and on our interpretive programs, especially our theatre-based approach.

Victorian Styles and Furnishings: Students in Cabinet-making, Design and Architecture
This tour will give CEGEP, university or special-interest student groups a chance to discover the furnishings and décor of an upper-middle-class home built in 1837 and furnished in the style popular during the third quarter of the 19th century. The furnishings reflect eclectic Victorian tastes and are presented in their physical, social and historical context.
Target school groups: secondary vocational, CEGEP and university

Canada 101
For history buffs
A brief but dynamic overview of Canada’s formation, from Jacques Cartier to George‑Étienne Cartier, the Canadian who participated in the formation of Quebec. Did you know that in George‑Étienne Cartier’s time, the expression “French Canadian” was a pleonasm, and “English Canadian” was a contradiction? This presentation will tell you why. Afterwards, the interpretive guide will invite you on a guided tour of the original residence of George-Étienne Cartier.
This activity is designed for any group in Montréal on an immersion and study visit.
