Objectives:
The program permits children to meet the main characters in the history of Coteau-du-Lac. Make children aware of the danger of the rapids and the means used to bypass them.
Activities:
- Arts and Crafts workshop . The children make puppets in the image of a French or British soldier or an Aboriginal person.
- A Life-Sized Puzzle . By using a number of queries, children can explore the remains of the old fort.
- Songs of History . Using rhyme children discover the different boats once used to avoid the rapids.
- Major says ... Presentation of the artillery soldier uniform and a visit of the octogonal blockhouse.
Competencies:
- To situate him/herself in the physical environment and experiment with sequences of actions;
- To take into account concepts related to time, space and quantity;
- To recognize his/her differences from and similarities to others.
