Activities for Everyone!

By bike, on foot or by boat, come and admire the lockage operations and enjoy a family picnic in the Parc des Ateliers. Continue your exploration by strolling through Old Chambly or Old St-Jean.

In August, marvel at a sky filled with hot-air balloons – it’s a real treat for the eyes. The Chambly Canal is also a welcoming place in winter when you can practice skating, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.

Navigating the Chambly Canal offers a relaxing experience for boaters and kayak or canoe enthusiasts. The canal has retained all its charm of yesteryear with its bridges and crank-operated locks.

Spectacular demonstrations, picnics and hot-air balloons!
The Chambly Canal is located in the Vallée des Forts. Come and watch the boat lockage operations. Eight of the nine locks are still operated manually. At day's end, enjoy a picnic at lock No. 9 while observing the hot-air balloons drifting along in the August sky.

Since the summer of 2015, Parks Canada has installed a series of red Adirondack chairs at the Chambly Canal so that visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the rich historical and natural heritage of this exceptional site. What are you waiting for to discover them?
