Summer or winter, by boat or on your skates, a trip down the canal will take you back to a bygone era. Take the time to stop near locks 1-2-3 to admire and visit
Fort Chambly.
You can walk, ride, or snowshoe the 19 kilometers of the former towpath and enjoy the charm of the canal, which has seen more than a century of history.
Friends of the Chambly Canal will welcome you at the entrance to the Chambly and St-Jean-sur-Richelieu multipurpose path.
Whether you’d like to spend the afternoon cycling, kayaking, or heading out on a geocaching adventure, the Friends of the Chambly Canal
will be able to guide you in your activity.

The Chambly Canal National Historic Site is proud to host the annual International Pond Hockey Championship of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, an event that attracts the province’s top pond hockey teams!
The canal makes a magical setting for this proud Canadian tradition. Sign up to play or come out to cheer for the players braving the frozen ice of this national historic site!

Every Thursday in August
Enjoy dancing the Tango outdoors.
Demonstration at 7 p.m., followed by a 45-minute class. After that, enjoy dancing until 10 p.m.
