Hours of Operation

The national historic site is open every day from sunrise to 11 p.m. The path is maintained from April 15th to November 15th each year.

Please take note that time of lockages may vary. To maximize chances of being locked through, please arrive early enough to allow complete lockages in both directions.

During hours of operation, you may contact the canals personnel by VHF-Canal 68.

Transit: 3 to 5 hours
At locks 1 and 5, arrive at least 30 minutes before the last lockage. The floating docks are located on starboard.

Lockages at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. only

Saturday, Sunday and holidays
9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

N.B.: Other than access to the bathrooms, points of service are available to visitors at Locks Nos. 1 and 5 only.

June 23 to August 13

Every day
9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

August 14 to September 4

Monday to Friday
9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sunday and holidays
9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

September 5 to October 9
