A trail reserved exclusively for walkers extends the entire length of the canal. This footpath, covered with rock dust and entirely flat, is easily accessible for mobility impaired people. Rest areas and picnic tables are provided along the path.
Food services are few on canal property. However, snack bars, restaurants, grocery stores and corner stores can be found in the neighbourhood. At the Atwater Market, you will find a wide selection of fresh foods to make a feast fit for a king. Note, however, that the towpath sector, between the Côte-Saint-Paul lock and the Saint-Pierre sector, has less to offer in this regard.
