Soldier Vadeboncoeur's Great Game

Discover the life led by soldier Vadeboncoeur in the Dauphine Redoubt, circa 1750. Learn about the food, clothing and lifestyle of soldiers during this era.

This activity is designed to correspond with the social skills of students from 8 to 10 years old.   

Date: from September to June
Capacity: two classes of eight to ten-year-old students

Activities focusing on the life of French and British soldiers that stayed in Artillery Park during the colonial era. Two volunteers from among the students will be costumed, allowing us to compare jobs and clothing styles of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Visit to the Park

Artillery Park is a crucial part of Quebec City's fortifications, having been the main barracks for the city as well as the first arsenal in the country's history. Visiting superb historic and masterfully restored buildings, discover the French, British, and Canadian military history written in Quebec City's stones.
