Province House National Historic Site will be undergoing a renovation in advance of the 2014 celebrations that will mark the 150th anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference.
The work will begin in June 2012 and will consist of upgrades to the exterior of Province House National Historic Site that have been identified as high priority and necessary to protect the character-defining elements and heritage fabric of the building.
The renovation will include repairs to the foundation, masonry repointing, and maintenance of the roof, windows and doors. These renovations will ensure that Province House National Historic Site continues to be maintained, appreciated and enjoyed by present and future generations of Canadians.
The public is advised that construction will be ongoing until 2014 to ensure the project is complete for the 2014 celebrations. Throughout the renovation, access to the building will be maintained for visitors.
