Woodside welcomes visitors for the 2013 season
Historic house will see a flurry of activity October through December
KITCHENER (ONTARIO), September 25, 2013 – Woodside National Historic Site is eager to welcome Canadians back to the historic house beginning October 2 through December 21.
The 2013 operating season features Oktoberfest celebrations the week of October 7, 2013 where the house’s collection of Victorian toys will be available for the enjoyment of visitors. On October 11 & 12, 16-19 the home will be decorated for the harvest season in celebration of Thanksgiving! The estate will also be ablaze with fall colours, perfect for a picnic, an afternoon stroll or picture taking.
“We really look forward to this new season for Woodside,” said Alisha Campbell, Woodside’s Visitor Experience Team Leader. “New site booklets are available along with additional visitor products to be introduced in the coming months’. The site is also offering a special 2 week promotion allowing visitors to benefit from a 25% discount off of season passes beginning October 2.
October is also women’s history month and the site is giving visitors the opportunity to learn more about traditional Victorian women’s clothing including corsets and bustles.... this special activity is available every Saturday.
Hours of Operation
The house will be open to the general public Wednesdays through Saturdays from 1 pm to 5 pm. Woodside will also be open for group and school bookings by appointment: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Tuesday through Friday.
