Woodside National Historic Site of Canada
Commemorative Intent
A Statement of Commemorative Intent describes what is nationally significant about a national historic site. Such a declaration is based on the ministerially approved recommendations of the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada.
The Statement of Commemorative Intent for Woodside is as follows:
Woodside National Historic Site is a place of national historic importance because of its association with William Lyon Mackenzie King, Canada's 10th prime minister, whose home it was during his formative years, 1886 to 1893.
