Celebrate Family Day at Fort George
Monday, February 16, 2015
12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Parks Canada invites you to celebrate Family Day by visiting Fort George National Historic Site, where an afternoon full of fun and excitement await you. Explore the fort at your leisure and discover how soldiers lived during the War of 1812. While on tour, be sure to step inside the Soldiers’ Barracks where you’ll want to ready your camera as the kids try on 1812 uniforms. Let the kids get further acquainted with soldier life by taking part in a drill run led by one of our Heritage Interpreters. Our barracks are also home to fun period games such as graces and ball and a cup. After exiting the barracks, you’ll discover the Officers’ Quarters nearby where you can cozy up by the fireplace and sip on hot chocolate. End your visit with the thrill of a musket demonstration delivered by a War of 1812 Soldier!
