A Special Jane Austen Lecture with Dr. Barbara Seeber
May 18
Navy Hall at 7 p.m.
Cost: $10 for members and $15 for non-members

Join us for the third annual Jane Austen Lecture with Dr. Barbara Seeber from Brock University, as she discusses the timeless appeal of Jane Austen, 200 years after her death. Dr. Barbara Seeber is a professor of English language and literature at Brock University, and author of two books on Jane Austen. Her newest book, with Maggie Berg, is The Slow Professor: Challenging the Culture of Speed in the Academy (2016). After the lecture, there will be an evening social including tea & light fare. Additionally, the Friends of Fort George will be setting up a small Jane Austen themed gift shop for the event which will include books, mugs, jewelry, hats & more. Fort George Murder Mystery

It’s Murder most un-FORT-unate at Fort George! Major Blue is looking for some keen detectives to help uncover a murderer in a classic “who done it?” with an historical twist! Explore the Fort to uncover clues and interview suspects with hopes of finding the guilty party. Prizes to be awarded for some and fun to be had by all! Regular Admission Rates Apply. Fort George in the Great War

To commemorate the centennial of the First World War, Parks Canada and re-enactors from all across North America will bring Fort George National Historic Site's roots as Camp Niagara to life with displays and demonstrations honouring those who fought in the war to end all wars. Battle of Fort George, War of 1812 Re-enactment.
July 8 - 9

Join us as we commemorate 204th Anniversary of the Battle of Fort George. Re-enactors from all over North America will descend upon Fort George as they re-enact one of the pivotal events in Niagara during the War of 1812. Battle re-enactments will be scheduled throughout the weekend. 1812 programming including musket firings, cannon firings, music presentations and more will be happening both days inside the imposing walls of Fort George. Fife & Drum Muster & Soldiers’ Field Day

Join us for the 17th annual Fife & Drum Muster and Soldiers' Field Day! Fife and drum corps and infantry units from historic sites across Canada and the United States will converge on Fort George National Historic Site, showcasing the military music and drills of the early 19th century. Echoes of Niagara’s Past: A Military Timeline Event
August 26 - 27
10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Join us as Fort George and the Lincoln and Welland Regimental Museum commemorate over 200 years of Niagara's military history. The Fort will come alive as interpreters, animators and veterans display uniforms, weaponry and vehicles from the War of 1812, First World War, Second World War and other historic time periods. 4th Annual Grand Canadian Steampunk Exposition (third party event)
September 22 - 24

A Grand Exposition of Canadian Steampunk grandeur, a festival of epic proportions, sights and sounds to entertain and delight...all this and more. Three days of Canadian Steampunk amazement and astonishment in southern Ontario in the Niagara region, featuring a night time concert (performers to be announced)! A largely-outdoor Steampunk festival within a War-of-1812 Canadian fort, with activities, presentations and workshops for all ages and interests.

Battle of Queenston Heights Commemorative Tours
October 7 – 8

Join the Friends of Fort George and Parks Canada as we commemorate the 205th Anniversary of the Battle of Queenston Heights,and the death of Major- General Sir Isaac Brock, Saviour of Upper Canada. Brock’s Monument National Historic Site will be open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. all weekend. Join us for guided tours of the Battle site, climb the 235 steps to the top of Brock's Monument and enjoy the scenic view of Queenston Heights Park and the Niagara River! Join the Friends of Fort George and Parks Canada as we ring in the New Year at Navy Hall! Levee celebrations start at 3 p.m., and include toasts, music by the 41st Regiment Fife and Drum Corps, and a cannon firing to welcome the New Year.
