Though the Bois Blanc Lighthouse isn’t open to the public, it still offers a vantage point for gaining an understanding of the importance of its location as a key navigational aid and its brief time in the historical spotlight when invaded by American troops and Canadian “Patriots”. Catch the local ferry service from Amherstburg to Bois Blanc Island and spend an hour enjoying the breeze off the lake as you remember the brave keepers of the Bois Blanc Lighthouse. Public access to the site is limited and no interpretive signage is in place.
