Nova Scotia’s climate is very much influenced by the sea. Thanks to the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and the Bay of Fundy we have relatively moderate temperatures year-round ensuring mild winters and comfortably warm summers. Temperatures in coastal communities such as Halifax will tend to be slightly cooler than inland areas.

The influence of the sea also means weather and temperatures change frequently and rain and fog can make for cooler conditions. Bring a light jacket or sweater and comfortable shoes when you visit.
