Port-Royal National Historic Site invites you to explore and get to know this remarkable treasure. The major stories connected to the Site include the beginnings of European colonization and settlement; relations among the French settlers and the Mi'kmaq during the 17th century; and French construction techniques and other skills used by the settlers to survive in their new homeland. We hope you’ll enjoy exploring these topics through this website and through on-site programs. See for yourself this milestone in the Canadian heritage movement.

School Programs
Our programs provide education experiences that introduce elementary, middle and high school students to the unique story of Port-Royal. As a living museum, students see the past through the eyes of costumed interpreters who will demonstrate and convey how the explorers who lived here lived and survived.
