Winterlude 2013 – Parks Canada salutes 300 years of Louisbourg!
Parks Canada staff and mascot, Parka, invite you to join them in the national capital region for Winterlude 2013! Our programming for this annual winter festival, which runs from February 1 to 18, 2013, includes plenty of fun for the whole family:

Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., plus Mondays, February 11 and 18, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Join Parks Canada in celebrating the 300th anniversary of the establishment of the French colony of Île Royale (Cape Breton Island) and the founding of the town of Louisbourg. Enter Maison Charron and step back in time to the 1700s! Introduce yourself to "residents" of 18th century Louisbourg and try your hand at fun activities like an archaeological "dig" or making your very own tricorn hat!

Come get a "sense" of Canada's amazing national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites, including the impressive Fortress of Louisbourg. Enjoy games and old-fashioned hot chocolate by the fireside.

Meet Parka, Parks Canada's mascot, and take a souvenir photo with our giant beaver. Join Parka at the Snowflake Stage at 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and learn her new dance steps!
