Parks Canada is pleased to offer a selection of educational programs at the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site that will suit the interests and curriculum needs of all school grade levels, Primary through Grade 12. Based on new research and a hands-on approach, each program has been developed to match an array of Social Studies curriculum outcomes developed by the Nova Scotia Department of Education.

FIVE standard levels of educational programming are available for schools and teachers – bookings accepted now for May 7 - October 31.

Citadel Time Detectives: Level 1
A fun interactive tour with lots of hands-on experiences for grades Primary to 3.
$3.70/student; Program: two hours

Citadel Time Detectives: Level 2
A new version of our well-received Victorian school room program, revised according to teacher and student feedback for grades 4-6.
$3.70/student; Program: two hours

Citadel Time Detectives: Level 3
An interactive tour for middle school students (7-9), examining the 200 year history of the Citadel.
$3.70/student; Program: 90 minutes

Warden of the North
An interactive tour designed for the Grades 11and/or 12 curriculum, which includes the handling of artifacts at the Army Museum.
$3.70/student; Program: 90 minutes

Guided Tour - For All Ages
A general overview of the 19th-century historic site suitable for all grade levels.
Free; 1 hour

After your program we invite you to take some time to explore the Halifax Citadel.
