2015 Special Events

Thursday, July 23 at 2:00 pm - Mock Archaeological Dig
Bring your archaeologist's investigative skills to Fort Edward for a mock archaeological dig. Don't worry, we won't be dismantling the bastions and ramparts -- instead we will use kiddie pools filled with soil, and budding archaeologists will "unearth" small prizes buried beneath the "soil."

Saturday, August 1 at 2:00 pm - "Refreshing" Battle Re-enactment
Do you have a "Super-soaker" gun you'd like to use at a "refreshing" battle re-enactment - also a great opportunity to help explain why there are depressions in the ground and what the embankments were used for. This event is being held in conjunction with Avon River Days.

Thursday, August 6 at 2:00 pm - Washer Toss Tournament
Well it is not golf, but you may want to yell "fore" before you make your pitch at the washer toss tournament at Fort Edward - it is a little reminder back to those days in the 1960s when there was a 9-hole golf course on these very ramparts. Today Fort Edward is still accessible and a great to visit, whether walking the grounds or exploring the blockhouse.
