How to Get There

By air

Many visitors fly into Newfoundland. Air Canada, Air Canada Tango, Can Jet, Jazz, Provincial Airlines and Air Labrador are the major airlines that offer a variety of flights to St. John's, and the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador in general.

Once in St. John's, travel west on Route 1 approximately 90 kilometres (56 miles) to Whitbourne. Turn left onto Route 100 and travel 50 kilometres (31 miles) south to the Freshwater - Argentia Junction and turn left to Placentia and Castle Hill.

By ferry

Marine Atlantic offers daily car/passenger ferry service through Port aux Basques year-round and three times a week through Argentia during the summer months. If you arrive in Newfoundland via Argentia, you are less than 6 kilometres (4 miles) from Castle Hill National Historic Site of Canada; just follow the highway signage.
