Fab Forts Weekend

Carleton Martello Tower National Historic Site celebrates Fab Forts Weekend August 20 & 21. Join in the fun as we salute Canada’s fabulous forts and historic sites! On Saturday August 20, lively a cappella group Before the Mast takes command of the Tower barracks from 2 pm to 3 pm with their traditional sailor shanties and other songs of the sea. This concert is free with admission to Carleton Martello Tower (Adult: $3.90; Senior: $3.40; Youth: $1.90; Family: $9.80). Let us treat you to some free ice cream made the old-fashioned way from 2:30 pm to 4 pm. Parka, Parks Canada’s mascot, is scheduled to make a special appearance!

On Sunday August 21, join us for Saint John Privateers and see if you have what it takes to be a lawful pirate of the seas! Put your privateering skills to the test with games, exploration and crafts! This hour-long family program is offered in French at 1 pm and in English at 2:30 pm. Reservations are recommended. Participation is free with admission to Carleton Martello Tower.
