July 1 Canada Day
Come celebrate Canada Day at Carleton Martello Tower! Festivities start at noon and continue until 4 p.m. (rain or shine). You can expect free cake and refreshments, prize giveaways, a fun family scavenger hunt — plus free admission to our exhibit in the Visitor Centre! Stick around for a live, interactive performance at 2 p.m. by east coast band Frantically Atlantic.
July 2 Ghost walk with David Goss
Join local historian David Goss at Carleton Martello Tower for this special Canada Day - themed ghost walk. During this hour and a half long adventure, chilling tales from every province in Canada will be recalled, with some inspired by our very own national historic sites. Arrive no later than 8:45 p.m. to pay your entrance fees: The walk will begin promptly at 9 p.m. Adults $7.30 / Kids $4.90
July 9 Delancey's Brigade — historical re-enactment
An exciting historical re-enactment, in full military dress will be presented by Delancey’s Brigade, a group of re-enactors from Saint John at the Carleton Martello Tower. Anticipate a vision from the past as they revisit the late 18th century!
July 13-17 Buskers
Engaging live musical performances will be held at Carleton Martello Tower during the Buskers Festival in Saint John.
July 23 Ghost walk with David Goss
The Best of the West: Starting at 9 p.m. at Carleton Martello Tower, local historian David Goss will be leading this ghost walk with stories of paranormal encounters witnessed right here on the west side… mere minutes from the tower. July 30 Victory Drive
An important milestone marking the end of World War I, our Victory Drive event at Carleton Martello Tower will have enjoyable family activities to ring in the occasion.
August 1 New Brunswick Day
This New Brunswick Day at Carleton Martello Tower, there will be interesting activities to intrigue the entire family. We will also be sharing cake and some light refreshments with our visitors to mark this special day.
August 6 Ghost Walk with David Goss
Regaling ghost stories of New Brunswick by talented Canadian writers will be shared by guest readers on this summer evening walk. The walk will begin at Carleton Martello Tower and will feature presenters Stuart Trueman, Carol Spray, Dorothy Dearborne, Doug Underhill, Ian Sclanders and David Goss. August 20 Fab Forts
Fabulous festivities will be held at the Carleton Martello Tower to recapture some of the invaluable roles it has played throughout history as a fortification structure used in defending the city of Saint John. Cake and refreshments will be available, along with exciting learning activities!
August 27 Ghost Walk with David Goss
The Ghost of John: David Goss makes an appearance as John Nathaniel Leavitt on this ghost walk, recanting stories as told by John himself. Leavitt died on October 4th many years ago in 1869 during a turbulent storm at the New River Beach, the great Saxby Gale. Bend your ear to John’s frightening tales as you join him on his quest for a burial with his fellow shipmates. The walk will begin promptly at 9 p.m. Adults $7.30 / Kids $4.90
October 22 Ghost Walk with David Goss
History of Halloween: This terrifying ghost walk departing from Carleton Martello Tower will center on encounters with ghosts, witches and ghouls! David Goss leads this walk and will share the fascinating history behind Halloween and the interesting origins of our modern-day traditions. The walk will begin promptly at 9 p.m. Adults $7.30 / Kids $4.90
