The War of 1812 from a Child’s Perspective with David Goss
On Monday, August 4, Saint John author and storyteller, David Goss, explores the War of 1812 as seen from a child’s perspective. This interactive, one-hour program for children features games, stories, music, and a souvenir craft to reveal what life was like for a child living in Saint John two hundred years ago.
Discover the tale of an uncle who marched with his regiment all the way to Kingston; learn about the privateer cousin who patrolled the Bay of Fundy in search of American ships and a mother who feared for her son’s safety. Hear the story of the father who faced the enemy on the high seas and the labourer who helped build Saint John’s very own martello tower.
Presentation times are at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. This program is appropriate for children aged 8-12. Reservations are required as spaces are limited. To reserve a space, contact us at 506-636-4011 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. Parents are welcome to attend. Regular admission fees apply.
