Looking for an interesting and fun way to spend your birthday party this summer season? Why not spend the day at Fort St. James National Historic Site. Whether self guided or working with a park interpreter, you will be sure to have an excellent time at the site. Here’s some basic information about what we can offer for the best birthday party, this side of 1896!
Fire pits and picnic facilities
If you are having an outdoor event like a hot dog roast or a barbecue over a fire, we have six ideal fire pits for your own events. Booking this space is possible: please inquire
Historic Tea Parties, Apple Pie Baking Workshops and more
Complete with your own birthday cake, we can supply the tea and other refreshments to make a memorable birthday happen. Get your hands dirty as you make your own apple pies, decorate your own cookies or simply enjoy the dining room of the Officer’s House.

Most interpretive games and programs at Fort St. James can be adapted to suit a special audience like a birthday party. Inquire about the endless possibilities.
Fort St. James National Historic Site charges rates for customizing and adapting programs for special audiences. Please inquire and we will provide you with a quote for your program or party, probably the most exciting and affordable option you’ll find in Northern BC.
Birthday party functions that have their own cake, supplies and food may use our picnic facilities for no charge above regular admission. Exclusive use requires a reservation fee.
Off-season events are subject to staff availability and should be booked well in advance.
