The sense of history is still very powerful in Rogers Pass. With a day to spend, visitors can stroll more than 6 km of self-guiding abandoned rail line and experience the ruins of Glacier House, one of Canadian Pacific's first grand railway hotels. Engineering marvels such as a stone arch bridge, stone trestle pillars and wooden snowshed ruins can be seen up close at the trails and picnic areas. The entire history of the pass unfolds in exhibits, films and publications at the Rogers Pass Discovery Centre. Visitors with more time available can hike the longer backcountry trails first established 120 years ago by Glacier House staff and guides.
