Host an unforgettable birthday party for your child at Fort Langley National Historic Site! Each party theme will capture your child’s imagination with unique, hands-on activities led by a Parks Canada interpreter.

oTENTik Sleepover Birthday Party

Imagine your child and his or her friends playing hide-and-seek at twilight inside the fort, and then gathering around the bonfire before settling down for the night in one of the new oTENTik cabins. Spend the following morning in the fort, taking part in the day’s variety of activities.

Features

  • Includes overnight stay inside an oTENTik cabin, which sleeps up to 6 people. One adult minimum required for each oTENTik.
  • This birthday party is self-guided – you are free to plan activities for your group, and enjoy visitor activities between 10 am and 5 pm on the day before or after your visit. If you would like a guided birthday party program during site hours added on, it must be pre-arranged at the time of booking, and additional program charges will apply.
  • Firewood for use at group fire pit.
  • Personal mini-fridge.

Cost

  • $153.10 per oTENTik (based on occupancy of up to six people). Fee includes reservation fee, site admission and applicable taxes.

Gold Fever Birthday Party

Imagine you are a gold prospector during the 1858 Fraser River Gold Rush. Put on a gold miner's hat, sign a gold license, and head out to the gold panning station to see if you can strike it rich!

Features

  • Includes all-day site admission.
  • 2-hour party includes the following guided activities with Parks Canada interpreter:
    • Try on old-fashioned dress up clothes.
    • Build a house and carry your supplies. 
    • Watch a blacksmithing demonstration.
    • Pan for gold.
  • Optional bonfire (roasting sticks provided; bring your own food)
  • Use of party room and fridge
  • Download invitations (PDF, 665 KB).

  • Weekends: 10:30 am or 1:30 pm

  • $14.70 (including HST) per child. Adult chaperones complimentary.

Birthday High Tea Party

Imagine your child and her friends having a fancy high tea in the Victorian setting of Mrs. Newton’s parlour in Fort Langley’s Big House. Nibble a spread of delightful high tea goodies, and either make a bracelet to take home (age 6+) or participate in a Fancy Dance Party (age 5 and under).

  • 2-hour party includes the following activities with Parks Canada interpreter:
    • High tea refreshments
    • Make a bracelet to take home (age 6+)
    • Fancy Dance Party (age 5 and under)
  • Optional bonfire after program (roasting sticks provided; bring your own food)
  • Use of Big House parlour for the high tea.

Cost

  • $23.70 (including HST) per child, including catered high tea menu.
  • Optimum group size: 6-8 children (minimum 6 required). Inquire about larger groups.
  • Admission for adult chaperones is complimentary, excluding high tea catering.

Archaeology Adventure Birthday Party

Do you like to investigate? Gear up and see what you can excavate in a simulated archaeological dig. Discover what kinds of artifacts have been found at Fort Langley National Historic Site, and then participate in a “rock concert.”

  • Includes all-day site admission.
  • 2-hour party includes the following activities with Parks Canada interpreter:
    • Try a simulated archaeological dig.
    • Discover Aboriginal tool technology while making noise with a “rock concert”.
    • Watch a blacksmithing demonstration.
  • Optional bonfire after program (roasting sticks provided; bring your own food)
  • Use of party room and fridge

Booking

Payment

  • Deposit of $25.00 is required at the time of booking. The balance is due at the beginning of the party. Refer to each party theme for specific costs.
  • Cancellation received 14 days or more prior to the Birthday Party date are refundable. There are no refunds for cancellations with less than 14 days notice.
  • Parents are admitted free, so we encourage adults to stay for the party. NOTE: Catering costs for parents are not included in the High Tea Party.

Guidelines

  • We require a minimum of two to four parent chaperones.
  • Outside food is permitted and we encourage you to bring your own hot dogs or marshmallows to cook over the bonfire. For catering, see the add-on features section.
  • Pets and smoking are prohibited on site.
