Grades 4-adults: First Nations at Fort Langley


Discover Aboriginal tool technology while making noise with a “rock concert”.

Shape a stone tool, listen to legends and discover uses of edible plants. Investigate Aboriginal uses of the site over time through a simulated archaeological dig. Explore the relationship between the First Nations, HBC employees and the environment.

Learning Objectives
  • Identify effects of early contact between Aboriginal societies and European explorers and settlers
  • Describe technologies used by Aboriginal people
Schedule
  • Availability: September to June
  • Program Length: 2 hours
  • Mondays and Tuesdays: 10 am–noon & 12:30–2:30 pm
Fees
  • Youth: $3.90
  • One adult (including teachers and parent chaperones) per five students is free.
  • Additional adults: $6.55
