Winter Programs and Activities
November 20th, 2009 – March 7th, 2010
10:00am – 5:00pm

On weekends, revel in the adventures of the brave Voyageurs or hear how First Nations women enriched Fort Langley. Celebrate the stories of all the colourful characters that called Fort Langley home.

What better way to end a cold winter day than to sit around a campfire and be inspired by real stories of fur traders, First Nations and the history of our province.

Saturday & Sunday schedule of programs:

**all of our programming is available in both English and French, but the Stories of the Voyageurs is a special program designed to celebrate the contribution of French-Canadians at Fort Langley.**

10:00am: The Fort Awakens
11:00am: Stories of the Voyagers (offered in French)
12:00pm: Blacksmith Demo
1:00pm: Building BC
2:00pm: Fur Trade Wedding
3:30pm: Storytelling around the campfire, either outside or in a building, weather dependent

On weekdays from the end of September, we host many school field trips, but we are always open and ready to welcome the public!

On weekday mornings you can

  • Come early when the Fort comes alive: help start the forge, light the bake oven and raise the flag!
  • Chat with a costumed guide
  • Follow along with one of the school group tours
  • Enjoy our orientation movie, “A Magical History Tour”
  • Use our informative site map to explore the site
  • Enjoy the interpreter led Storytelling around the Campfire - daily at 3:30

As always, don't miss:

  • Blacksmithing and coopering demos
  • Gold-panning - try to strike it rich!
  • Barrel races or tug-o-wars after school is out!

Don't miss our special events like the Old-Fashioned Musical Christmas and the French Canadian Winter Festival.

Come find your story this winter at Fort Langley National Historic Site.
