Contest: Get to Know Program - Connect, create, celebrate!
Get to know your wild neighbours © Get to Know Program
DATE: April 8 -July 16, 2012
AGE: Youth 19 and under
THEME: Get to know your wild neighbours
Here’s an invitation to get outdoors, connect with your wild neighbours, and celebrate nature through the arts. Enter with art, writing, video, photograph, and music.
Providing young people with opportunities to spend more time outdoors is a priority of the Get to Know Program. This is particularly important in this day and age, as children continue to abandon outdoor experiences for those they can participate in from within the home. This detachment from nature, and resulting sedentary lifestyle, can have a negative effect on the development of children.
